real "estate agent" or "real estate broker" is a person
or agency that acts as an intermediary for the buyers and sellers of real
estate. ![]() Real estate agents are usually licensed salespeople that act for an agency or real estate broker to buy, sell and rent properties for their clients. They work to promote and market properties for clients wanting to sell their house, while at the same time looking for the right home for buyers. Agents show potential buyers around suitable homes, working like salespeople to point out the value of the property. Real estate brokers or estate agents usually work on a commission basis, making a small percentage of the sale price when they sell a property, which makes them highly motivated to makes sales. In the United States of America, there are also "Realtors", which are members of the National Association of Realtors or NAR. REALTOR is a registered trademark of the NAR, but the term is used as a colloquialism in other countries, to refer to real estate agents, brokers, and those working in real estate.
